Founded in 1991, Caburn-MDC was created with the aim of selling vacuum components to the European scientific community through a catalogue. The company originally employed a team of six people and operated from The Old Dairy in picturesque Glynde, East Sussex.

Caburn's first multicurrency European catalogue was published in 1992, and since then the original team of six has grown to a group of multilingual, dedicated professionals operating in offices across Europe.

In June 2005, the assets of Caburn-MDC were purchased by a consortium of private individuals who launched a new company: Caburn-MDC Europe Limited.

In 2006 the same consortium of individuals also acquired Instrument Technology Limited, an established manufacturer of vacuum components, based in St Leonards-on-Sea, Hastings, East Sussex.

The two companies have recently merged to form MDC Vacuum Products Limited and the company headquarters are now located at the factory site in Hastings.

MDC Vacuum Products now has a workforce in excess of 100 employees Europe wide, and manufactures 95% of a comprehensive product range across its various worldwide sites in India, North America and the UK.

Caburn-MDC is now a wholly owned subsidiary of MDC and has changed It's name to MDC Vacuum Ltd following its joining of the MDC group

As the distributor of the MDC, ISI and MDC SemiSystems product range. MDC Vacuum Ltd prides itself in being the " one stop shop" of the vacuum components suppliers.
